In that sense it felt like a cross between the original Deus Ex and an Elder Scrolls game to me when playing. You feel like you are in a living world, where your actions actually change things. The atmosphere in this game is second to none. Every story from the main mission to the side missions to just little things you come across are all written with care, skill and imagination. It's true freedom and wealth of (original) content make this a time sponge.
